Start-up shear flow of a shear-thinning fluid that approximates the response of viscoplastic fluids

In this paper we study a start-up shear flow of recently proposed model shear-thinning fluid that mimics the response class viscoplastic materials, namely between parallel plates, one which is fixed and other started impulsively. simple flows while generalized viscosity blows up, stress yet finite thus able to mimic fluids. The analytical solution velocity profile obtained using semi-inverse approach for perturbation approximation. partial differential equation approximation solved numerically, compared with in order validate numerical scheme. full equations are then numerically effect various material moduli assessed by introducing appropriate dimensionless variables.
